Woolloomooloo is only 1km from the CBD, you can easily get there by a leisurely stroll through the gorgeous Domain Park. Once a poor working class district, it has undergone a huge revival in recent years and home to a premier waterfront entertainment and dining precinct -- The Finger Wharf. Following a $300m redevelopment it now accommodates some of Sydney’s premier apartments and broke Sydney’s apartment record when actor Russell Crowe bought his penthouse for $14.35m in 2003, a record that was smashed by radio personality John Laws in 2004 when he bought his for just under $15m.

The wharf is lined with world-class restaurants and bars favoured by Sydney’s social set including Otto Ristoraunte Italiano which is undoubtedly one of the best places in Sydney to see and be seen. Of all the restaurants in Woolloomooloo, one of the longest established is the renowned Harry’s Café de Wheels. This ‘mobile’ local institution has served up mouth-watering pies and mushy peas to returning late night revellers since 1938.

There is a blend of new luxury developments, Victorian terraces and apartments in Woolloomooloo. The Naval Base HMAS Kuttabull is located in neighbouring suburb Potts Point and there are still ships docking at the historic First Fleet Base.
