Dedication to clients sees DiJones agent booming

A solid network of referrals and a strong team has seen DiJones sales agent Piers van Hamburg, recognised in the premier benchmark for Australian real estate professionals.

“An outstanding agent and DiJones partner working across Mosman, Cremorne and Neutral Bay, Piers’ success saw him rise seven places in the REB Top 100 Agents 2021, to 34,” DiJones Head of Sales Brent May said.

“Piers sold 60 properties with an average of nine days on market, the fewest days on market recorded in the ranking. Piers had an average sale price in excess of $2.8 million.”

According to REB agents are ranked using the number and total dollar volume of properties sold as well as the average sale value across a 12-month period.

Mr van Hamburg said there is lots of energy around a property at the beginning of the campaign and this is when the best buyers often come in.

“We focus on looking after vendors and managing buyers. Most vendors don’t want to be on the market for an extended period of time, they want a premium and they want to get the sale done quickly.

“In many cases I find it is the first person who views a property that ends up buying it. I also rely on a network of referals and have a strong team who proactively approach buyers rather than waiting for them to come from the portals.

“Being part of the DiJones network with one central database means we have easy access to buyers from different areas and outstanding social media products, which helps with speed of sale.

“We are also painstakingly particular about how we style our properties and are focused on first impressions.”

An increase in the volume of off market sales has also helped to contribute to the fall in days on market.

“In March 2021, I had some very swift sales including, 139 Awaba Street, Mosman, which sold off-market in two days with four buyers in competition. The single level home sold with no open homes for $4.6 million and I was left with two underbidders after this sale which have since gone on to purchase other properties from the network.

“We also sold, 9 Wonga Road, Cremorne in three days after taking 10 buyers through while we were taking photos. We sold it prior to going on the website for $5.1 million, a record for a Cremorne upper duplex.

Mr van Hamburg said he expects to see strong results to continue. “We have just listed four family homes between $4-6 million on Sydney’s lower north shore.”
