Beecroft home of original TV Dr John D'Arcy for auciton
The family home of Australian television’s most trusted and well-loved authority on family medicine, Dr John D’Arcy and his wife Wendy O’Donnell, has been placed on the market for auction.
Dr D’Arcy first became a household name some 30 years ago when he combined his medical career with a regular spot on the Seven Network’s Beyond 2000 program, and in more recent times as medical editor for Sunrise and the special guest medical editor for Seven’s Sunday Night.
Di Jones Real Estate Sales Agent David Meldrum said the property in Beecroft has been the home of Dr D’Arcy and his family for 36 years and they have made the decision to downsize.
“The immaculately presented five bedroom home on a battle axe block on much sought after Copeland Road East is an entertainer's delight, with formal lounge and dining rooms flowing to outdoor living areas with their own extensive parklands,” Mr Meldrum said.
“Only a 500m walk to Beecroft Village's vibrant café scene and station, its bushland views transport you away from the hustle and bustle of city living.
“The home features classic styling, contemporary layout, and a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and butler's pantry,” Mr Meldrum said.
Renovated over the last 12 years, the home has seen considerable interest from families.
“The home’s proximity to Beecroft Public School and Cheltenham Girls High, and accessibility to other private schools nearby is a huge attraction,” Mr Meldrum said.
The property at 147a Copeland Road East, Beecroft will be auctioned on Saturday, 21 October 2017, at midday on site. It has a price guide of $2.2 million.
