Di Jones Real Estate sponsor Bowral Blacks Rugby 7’s competition
The Bowral Blacks Rugby Club will host the fourth annual Southern Highlands Rugby 7’s tournament on October 3, 2015 at Eridge Park, Bowral.
In 2015 the Bowral Blacks look forward to welcoming teams from Northern Suburbs, Manly, Sydney University, Riverina, Sutton Forest, Ozboks, Petersham, Campbelltown, Subbies, Newcastle, Canberra Royals, Illawarra, Penrith, Southern Districts, Oatley, Shoalhaven, Maroubra, Burraneer, Hills, Moss Vale High, ACT Barbarians, Kiama, Avondale, Wollongong University, Lindfield, Pittwater and Goulburn.
More than 60 teams from rural and regional NSW, Sydney and ACT will compete in a range of competitions including, Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s Colts (U20), Boys U18, Girls U18, Boys U16, Girls U16, Boys U14, Girls U14.
Cup, Plate and Bowl trophies are up for grabs as well as more than $8,000 in prize money.
Rugby 7’s is rapidly becoming more and more popular around the world and in 2016 the sport will make its debut at the Rio Olympics.
The Best & Fairest Colts (U20) player will again be presented with the Thomas Kelly Cup to honour Thomas’s memory.
Bowral Blacks Rugby Club President Mark Fruend said, ‘Bowral Blacks are very proud to be hosting the fourth annual Southern Highlands 7’s rugby tournament.”
“It’s a greay day out so we would like to invite everyone else to come along and enjoy the tournament and also our newly refurbished club house.”
Director of Southern Highlands 7’s David Loiterton said, “7’s rugby is a fast and exciting game for both players and spectators.”
“The Southern Highlands 7’s is one of the few tournaments in Australia catering for youth teams, both boys and girls. Bowral Blacks Rugby strongly believes our investment in youth competitions is important for the long-term development of sport in the region.”
