NSW Top 50 agent rankings shows success for DiJones on lower north shore

The DiJones brand is thriving on the lower north shore with two of its sales agents recognised as some of the best of the best in the industry across NSW.

Nigel Mukhi and Piers van Hamburg of the DiJones Neutral Bay and Mosman offices were ranked at number 18 and number 34 respectively in the inaugural Real Estate Business Top 50 Agents NSW 2021 ranking based on the number of properties sold, the total dollar volume of properties sold, and the average sale value across a 12-month period.

“The market on the lower north shore is hot,” Nigel Mukhi said. “I’ve been a real estate agent for over 15 years and I haven’t seen a market like it. There is huge buyer demand due to FOMO and a lack of stock due to lockdown is seeing fierce competition from buyers.”

Over the last 12 months to 30 June, 2021 there was an astounding 47.21 per cent increase in the Kirribilli house price, according to the DiJones Annual Market Report released last week. There was strong growth right across the lower north shore including a 32.45 per cent increase in North Sydney house prices and 9.81 per cent increase in unit prices.

“People have been working from home and this is causing pressure on space,” Mr Mukhi said. “With travel restricted and a six to 12 month wait for a new car, people are excited that they can buy a new property and move within six weeks.”

Piers van Hamburg said he had his best year in his 25 year career despite being in the middle of COVID environment.

“It’s amazing,” he said. “The marketing is going extremely well. We ran an online auction a few weeks ago at 6 Fall Street in Cammeray where we had 10 registered bidders and it sold to a young family from Balmoral for $4.41 million, $110,000 over the reserve price.

“It’s great to see that technology is enabling us to still do business even with lockdowns.”

Meanwhile, Mr Mukhi recently sold 17 McDougall Street, Kirribilli for just under $3.5 million having previously sold the property at the end of June 2019 for $2.65 million.

“We have also had great success with our development at 9-11 Doohat Avenue, North Sydney, a partnership between a local family and Coco Republic, with only two apartments left in the boutique 12 apartment development.

“Popular with downsizers and empty nesters its green wall is the first of any apartment on the lower north shore I have seen.

“With low stock levels we expect that demand will continue to outstrip supply in the coming months,” Mr Mukhi said.
