Bowral is the largest and arguably the most charming town in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

It’s perhaps best known as the place where the great Sir Don Bradman lived between the ages of two and 11. You can still see the water tank at his childhood home on Shepherd Street, where he famously developed his batting prowess by hitting a golf ball against it.

For 10 years, P. L. Travers, the author of Mary Poppins, also called this Southern Highlands suburb home. A statue of her stands in Glebe Park, which is located directly behind the Bradman International Cricket Hall of Fame and Museum.

Other famous people who were born or lived in Bowral include Australia's first Prime Minister, Sir Edmund Barton; Ita Buttrose; Kyle Sandilands; Andrew Denton; and Lachlan Gillespie, better known as the "Purple Wiggle".

Aside from its celebrity residents, this charming Southern Highlands suburb is known for its breathtaking countryside scenery, rolling hills, lush greenery, and temperate climate. Here you’ll find world-class wineries and historic estates.

If that isn’t impressive enough, life in the "Double Bay of the Bush" is sophisticated and relaxed. Thanks to its boutique shops and art galleries, artists and culture lovers find it especially appealing. Additionally, the annual Tulip Time Festival at Corbett Gardens attracts visitors from around the world.
